Cisneros Media, includes our media and entertainment companies, which have long-standing leadership positions in television broadcasting, production, and distribution as well as in music. This business unit includes Venevision—our premier television business—one of the largest producers of Spanish-language television content in Latin America and the leading privately owned TV network in Venezuela, and also Venevision Plus, VmasTV and VePlusTV, the organization’s cable networks throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Miss Venezuela Organization, which holds a record seven Miss World and Miss Universe titles.
Cisneros Media also includes such corporate business as Venevision International, the global distributor of entertainment content with more than 35 years in the industry; Venevision Productions, the largest independent producer of Spanish-language programming in the United States; and Venevision Music, which operates two record labels, VeneMusic and Siente Music, a music publishing company, Venevision International Publishing, and a concert producer and promoter, VeneShow.
Cisneros Interactive, is a business division in charge of forging exciting new partnerships in mobile advertising services, digital publishing, gaming, and e-commerce with companies like Redmas, Kontextua, Adsmovil and Cuponidad. As social media and new mobile platforms revolutionize how people communicate and interact, these new businesses are enabling us to harness innovative technologies and to transform both our content and the ways in which we relate to our audiences. Recent examples include our programming distribution alliances with Netflix and Hulu and the launch of a mobile platform, WallCup, centered on soccer.
Cisneros Real Estate is our business unit focused on positioning real estate developments of our flagship investment, Tropicalia in the Dominican Republic which promises to become a global model for high-end sustainable tourism. At the same time, we are pursuing a number of hotel and resort projects in Latin America in partnership with the world’s most prestigious hotel management brands. Consumer Products & Services: Throughout our history, the Cisneros Group has focused on making smart investments and executing well, leading to holdings in consumer products and services that offer distinctive business value. Currently, we own Laboratorios FISA, which manufactures and distributes personal care products in Venezuela; Saeca, a business travel management company associated with Carlson Wagonlit Travel; and Americatel, the most important player in the Venezuelan radio communication market.
